Kadir Has University
With 22 Rochester Institute of Technology students, I collaborated with Kadir Has University's Prof. Dr. AyÅŸe CoÅŸkun Orlandi, 20 students and LASDER (Tire Industrialists Association). Students from both universities worked together to design urban furnishing for the Halic Park in Istanbul. The medium parameter was end of life tires. With a focused desire to engage the public in social and playful interaction. The students worked together in teams between Turkey and the US via skype and a shared blog. The successful designs were selected for inclusion in the Istanbul Design Fair 2012.

Mapping
‘Mapping Experiences’ is a one-week workshop held at Kadir Has University Faculty of Fine Arts, with design students from Turkey, Germany and the USA. The workshop was a collaboration between Prof. Roberley Bell, and Prof. AyÅŸe CoÅŸkun Orlandi. The participants were a group of nine design students from three different universities; Kadir Has University, Turkey, Coburg University, Germany, Kansas State University, USA and different design disciplines including, graphic, interior and product design.
The workshop provided an experimental study in the region of Cibali-Fener-Balat which are the oldest neighborhoods of Istanbul, representing a diverse range of cultures and religions. The students saved their impressions and first hand experiences of sensory associations through, drawing, writing, photography, recording and objects. As a result, an exhibition of collected data was installed in an historic building.
