The term long course examines our creative practice with in the realm of locale. Working in the public sphere with community partners, students will investigate the essential characteristics of space- place to develop unique projects that engage the stakeholders of a specific community. This course offers students the experience of working across disciplines and with a collaborative community partnership,
New Perspectives on Space and Place extends learning beyond the classroom. By breaking down the boundaries of the classroom students enter into a dynamic learning experience where a neighborhood within the city of Rochester becomes a space for engaged experiential learning.
The digital portfolio includes: field notebooks, maps of sensory walks and date collection, Interventions on the public transport system and design proposals for the utilization of vacant lots in the Hudson Ave neighborhood.
