The site: Factory docks

​

The site is right next to the Lantmännen Grain factory and stretches from the coffe-rostery to Niagara.

​

Today the site is used mainly for car parking, transportation from and to the factory and for loading boats. This is a place that is moving between the shifts from the old city to the new, which makes it truly interesting. On one part it’s still used for loading boats and on the other it’s a walking path along the harbor.

However it’s used it truly has potential. Whether you are a factory worker or just a citizen strolling by it has a stunning view over Malmö Harbor. It’s also a site with real contrast from old and new and big and small.

​

As you walk there next to the high walls of the factory you feel small, jet you want to make a stop and look at the beautiful view of the Harbor. But today there is not really any place to sit along the dock. Therefor our proposal would be to install a couple of chairs right at the edge of the dock. Noting big and fancy, just a place to sit down and enjoy the scenery for a second.

This temporary activity at the sight might lead to a notice of how beautiful this place really is and result in something more permanent. However it will be just a nice place to sit down for a second and take in Malmö harbor.
