The premise for the workshop model is to utilize locale as both the classroom and as a site for learning. The focus of this collaborative participatory workshop is to get the student out of the traditional classroom and into the world where field research becomes the seminal process in learning to see, experience, understand and develop an awareness of a place and its culture.

 

The one day workshop sent groups of students on two scripted walks. The first, a 30 minute exercise, the second, a half day exploration of going and returning via the same path.
